Jean-Luc Ponty is considered one of the top fusion-jazz violinists of the past 50 years. He was a member of the Mahavishnu Orchestra from 1973-1975. From the late 60s he issued numerous albums, many of them on Atlantic Records. Aurora was originally issued in 1976 & features Patrice Rushen & Darryl Stuermer. Cosmic Messenger was originally released in 1978. It features Peter Maunu & Ralphe Armstrong. These two classic fusion albums are now presents as a two-on-one CD.
